Photo01_0crop.jpg Principal clarinetist Alane Gruber joined the Summit Symphony in 1991.  Alane graduated from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York; was a student teacher in Greece, New York; and then taught in Greenbrook, New Jersey for three and a half years.

She played with the Irvington Symphony under conductor Jim Sadewhite until that group disbanded.  She has also been a member of the Bloomfield Band and the Waldwick Band.  Currently Alane teaches with a group called Future Musicians Incorporated which serves parochial schools in New Jersey.

Alane and her husband Howard have raised three children and are awaiting their first grandchild.  They now have time to pursue a favorite sport -- the New Jersey Devils.
